Patrol

The Patrol division is the most visible extension of the police department, responsible for answering calls for service, issuing traffic warnings and citations, responding to traffic accidents and crimes in progress, and investigating both misdemeanors and felonies.  Patrol is currently comprised of 15 sworn officers.

Lt. Ronald Sanchez is ultimately in charge of the Patrol division and the supervisory load is distributed among four shift sergeants.  Each sergeant is responsible for the officers on his or her shift and reports to Lt. Sanchez.  Most officers have other responsibilities in addition to their normal patrol duties.  These duties include K-9 handling, drug interdiction, firearms instruction, investigations, gang intelligence, E.R.T., and others.  Patrol Officers work 12-hour shifts, and get a three day weekend off every other week.
